Meadow buttercup, 16th of June 2015.

A painting of a meadow buttercup (above) was made on 25th of April 2015. I sat in a semi-shadow of a small cherry tree and managed to get semi-sun-burned,
for the first time this year. Just last week, I got semi-sun-burned once more this year.
A meadow buttercup or Ranunculus acris is a particularly elegant flower, and quite a successful one - one can find it on every meadow that is
not really sick. It has cousins which have quite similar flowers, but different leaves. I photographed some of them at the end of April this year in
>> Nature park Lahinja, in Slovenia.

The author of the illustration shown above is >> Otto Wilhelm Thomé, and it was published in his book Flora von Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz in Wort und Bild für Schule und Haus from year 1885.
