Sun is completely obscured by clouds, but these are not clouds which can be easily discerned, rather some sort of a fog high above. That is why there are no clear shadows on the painting, one can see only darker tones in places where the surfaces approach very close to each other. Regardless, the sunflowers on the t-shirt and the sunscreens in the background shine.
